this is the cadet guards that change every hour and are stationed at the perpetual flame
This is just 1/1000 of the names posted on the 50 foot tall walls that surround the memorial
This is one of the veterans who came to put flowers on the memorial

This is a group of school children who came to put flowers. The day we were there (the day before May 9) there were over 20 bus loads of kids who came to the park

This is the center statue in Victory Park, which is in commeration of the Great Patriotic War (2nd World War). Over 30 million Russians died, probably 1/2 of them were killed by Stalin.
The day is May 9 and is celebrated all over Russia with parades and in Red Square, with tanks and the Army. Here there was a huge parade down town, and then at 12:00, all the people came to this part to put flowers on all the memorials.

This is a picture of a street near our house. It is on the walk to the park. Notice the painted tires. They all have bulbs planted in them for Spring.

This is our KFC, called Rostics. And it is almost the same. We have no other fast food places.
